Resumen: The results of the diagnosis made on the presence of Astronomy in the initial teacher training of Physics Teachers in the Argentine Republic are presented. The curricula and their designs of the different degrees offered by the 24 educational jurisdictions and by the national, regional and private universities were analyzed. The curricula containing at least one Astronomy course on them were identified and the characteristics of those courses were analyzed (time allocation, location in the curriculum, minimum contents, current syllabus). Contacts with some teachers in charge of Astronomy courses were initiated in order to establish a network of Astronomy courses teachers in teacher training institutes, as part of the final stage of the research in progress. The methodology used consisted of surveying the official websites of the National Teacher Training Institute, of each University, of the National Interuniversity Council and of the search engine for official university degrees of the Secretariat of University Policies.SN - 0571-3285ER -
